WHAT IS BARRE ALL ABOUT?
Barre is a fusion of dance, flex and strength training, and those that take our Barre classes regularly report benefits like improved muscle definition, greater flexibility and improved posture. Virtual Playground’s signature Barre classes are athletic, meaning we work around a set of 2-3 cardio intervals mixed with slow isometric movements.
This creates a type of muscle confusion that builds leaner core muscles, arms, thighs and glutes, all the while slowing down that racing brain for a deeper mind & body connection. There’s no complex workout jargon to learn, just a killer workout for all fitness levels.
Based on the traditional structure of American Barre, but with elements of dance and pilates, we’ll use light weights and a booty band to flex, tone and tighten. Small pulses, tiny tucks and micro-movements will chisel and define, plus burn a heap of calories.
UPPER BODY BURN
Barre workouts aren’t always about the lower body and this sequence shows you why. We’ll shine a spotlight on the biceps, triceps, shoulders and back using 1-2kg weights alongside dance-inspired steps for a little extra carving power. Bring on the gun show.
Think Barre classes are nothing more than pulses and tucks? This cardio blast will change that misconception faster than you can wipe the sweat. This intense, full-body Barre workout features planks, squats, jumps and push-ups. Attitude mandatory.
